Terms of Service
Plain terms for a free publication. No fine print, no traps — here is the whole deal.
The Agreement
These terms apply to The (all) Unknowing, published at theallunknowing.danielryancurtis.com. By using the site, creating an account, or subscribing, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the site.
What This Is
The (all) Unknowing is a free publication: essays, audio, video, and a newsletter. All content is free to read. Accounts are optional and free. Payments, where offered, are voluntary support for the work — they do not purchase access to anything, because nothing here is behind a paywall.
We may change, pause, or discontinue any part of the site at any time.
Accounts
- Provide a working email address; it's how everything reaches you.
- Keep your sign-in link private. You're responsible for activity on your account.
- You can unsubscribe or delete your account at any time.
- We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms.
The Content
All essays, audio, video, images, and coined terminology published here are the intellectual property of Daniel Curtis / The (all) Unknowing unless otherwise noted.
You may: share links freely, quote excerpts with attribution and a link back, and share the work personally and non-commercially — the vessel unaltered.
You may not: republish full works, modify and redistribute the content, sell it, claim it as your own, or bulk-scrape the site. For any commercial use, translation, or republication, ask first.
Voluntary Support
Support payments are processed by Stripe and are voluntary patronage, not purchases. Recurring support can be cancelled at any time from your account, effective at the end of the current billing period. If something goes wrong with a payment, contact us and we'll sort it out.
Comments & Conduct
Where comments are open: disagreement is welcome, abuse is not. Don't post spam, harassment, unlawful content, or other people's private information. We may remove comments or close accounts at our discretion.
Not Professional Advice
The content here is philosophical, psychological, and cultural commentary offered for reflection and education. It is not medical, psychiatric, therapeutic, legal, or financial advice, and it is not a substitute for care from a qualified professional. If you are in crisis or need professional help, please seek it.
Third-Party Services
The site links to and embeds third-party services — YouTube, Substack, and others. Your use of those services is governed by their terms, not ours. See our Privacy Policy for the services we use and what they process.
Disclaimers & Liability
The site and its content are provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We don't promise the site will always be available or error-free.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Daniel Curtis and The (all) Unknowing are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim — which, for most readers of a free publication, is nothing.
Changes, Termination & Governing Law
If we make material changes to these terms, we'll notify subscribers by email and post the update here with a new date. Continued use after changes means acceptance.
You can stop using the site at any time. We can suspend access for violations of these terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
