Privacy Policy
Your data is not the product. Your consciousness is not for sale. Here is exactly what we collect, why, and what we don't do with it.
What We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to deliver the work and run the site.
How We Use Your Information
- To deliver content: sending you the essays, audio, and updates you subscribed to receive.
- To process payments: managing voluntary support payments.
- To improve the site: understanding which work resonates so we can better serve our readers.
- To respond to you: when you contact us.
What we don't do:
- Sell your data to anyone, ever
- Use your information for targeted advertising
- Share your information with social media platforms
- Build behavioral profiles
Data Protection
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (SSL/TLS) and stored on Ghost's managed infrastructure. Payment security is handled entirely by Stripe. Access to subscriber data is limited to the publisher.
No system is impenetrable, but the strongest protection here is structural: we don't collect what we don't need.
Your Rights
You may, at any time:
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We honor these rights for all readers, regardless of where you live.
Cookies
We use only essential cookies:
- Session cookies to keep you signed in
- Preference cookies to remember your settings, such as dark mode
- Security cookies to prevent fraud
We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking, or retargeting pixels.
Third-Party Services
- Ghost: hosts the site, delivers email, and manages subscriptions.
- Stripe: processes voluntary support payments. Card details never touch our systems.
- Cloudflare: provides content delivery and site security.
- YouTube: some pages embed videos using YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, which does not set tracking cookies unless you play the video.
Each service processes data under its own privacy policy. We choose services for necessity and privacy standards, not data harvesting.
Children's Privacy
This site is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13; if you believe a child has provided us information, email us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify subscribers by email and post the update here with a new date.
